The Department of Art at the University of Nevada Las Vegas are taking artist applications for Spring Artist-in-Residence Program. Approximate dates for 2016 are January 17 through March 12 (session 1) and March 17 through May 13 (session 2). From the announcement:
"The successful applicants will remain in residence throughout the tenure of each of the two sessions, each teaching two seminars for advanced undergraduate and MFA students, performing studio visits, participating in critiques, and offering individualized mentorship for young and emerging artists in our programs." <snip> Applicants should be actively engaged in contemporary artistic practice and show evidence of a national or international exhibition record. Applications from practitioners of studio disciplines, as well as art history and/or criticism, are welcome. Writers, critics, and art historians are also encouraged to apply. ZAP 7 box by Tatiana Hantig on Maryland Parkway at University Road. Photo Paint This Desert ZAP 7 was anchored along Maryland Parkway. This time ZAP 8 will send art to the river. A call for artist qualifications has been made for for the next round of the Clark County public art project that hires artists to paint utility boxes. Titled "Zapped by the River" and will take place in Laughlin, Nevada. Here are some of the details:
