The City of Las Vegas will hold a “Temporary Public Art Workshop” on Saturday, January 30, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Historic Fifth Street School (401 S. Fourth Street). The informal workshop is designed to introduce local artists on upcoming temporary public art projects in the City of Las Vegas.
It will cover basic materials, from common terms, contractual issues, and the benefits and challenges of working with a city program, says Jenny Strayer, city Visual Arts Specialist. Also to be discussed are examples of temporary projects; information about applying for “The Windows” on First and the Aerial Gallery; how to create a proposal; and a presentation of public art in other regions. To register for “Temporary Public Art Workshop” send an email with your name, area of interest, and contact phone number to jstrayer(at)lasvegasnevada.gov.
